Jared has worked in local government for over 12 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Economics and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
Since 2015 he has served as the City Administrator for the City of Lowell, Oregon. In Lowell he facilitated the completion of a Downtown Master Plan, secured property and funding for the relocation of the library, development of a downtown central park, and other major infrastructure projects.
Prior to his current position, he served as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Lovington, NM, Assistant Finance Director for El Dorado, KS and completed internships with the City of The Dalles, OR, St. Pete Beach, FL, and Basehor, KS.
Outside of work Jared has a passion for the outdoors, including kayaking and hiking. He also enjoys giving back and has served on various boards and foundations, including Bridge Charter Academy and the Lea Community Foundation for the Arts.
Jared is a Florida native and grew up in Palm Harbor. He’s excited to back in his home state and to partner with the staff, city council, and residents to improve the quality of life in Mary Esther.
